Occupy Till I Come

Luke 19:13: And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. 14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

There is a contrast between occupying and rejecting God*s will. They are opposites. Our flesh wants to be occupied with itself. We need to be occupied with the things of God and His will and serving Him. There are blessings in the will of God that can be found nowhere else. There are curses outside the will of God. There are curses in rebellion. Idleness is also opposite to occupying. Doing nothing for the Lord or rebelling against Him are both opposites of occupying.

James 4:17: Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Occupying is doing the works that God has ordained for each of us. Not recognizing or admitting that God has a plan for YOUR LIFE is a big mistake. Questions we ought to ask ourselves often: Am I in the will of God right now or am I not? What am I occupied with? Am I occupied with the Lord*s will or am I occupied with something else?

1 John 2:17: And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Mark 3:35: For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

John 7:17: If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

There is knowledge in the will of God and ignorance outside of it.

Romans 8:27: And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Romans 12:2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Colossians 4:12: Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

1 Thessalonians 4:3: For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

Hebrews 10:36: For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
